What does good skin care mean?
As you may have noticed, our skin is changing as we age, Ugh! There are, in fact, forces at work that are beyond our control that cause our skin to change with age. Sadly, after about 30 years old, our skin no longer naturally exfoliates itself to reveal the fresher younger-looking layers beneath. Because of this, our skin begins to look more dry, and fine lines start to show more and more, and our skin holds onto pigments more. Our skin is actually holding onto more and more layers of dead cells, piling up and creating irregular texture and color, and allowing creases to show more.
Many of you combat some of these changes with Botox/Dysport and fillers, but did you know that quite a bit of these changes can be affected by your skin care? I mean to say, you can change the way your skin looks: color, texture, smoothness, by changing or adding some things to your skin care regimen.
OK, reality check: you first need to have a skin care regimen!! Hahahaha! I know that many of us don't have a routine for taking care of our skin, and if this is the case, then start small. Begin by committing to washing your face twice each day and then putting something beneficial on your face afterward. I recommend starting with a high quality cleanser and a moisturizer. That's it, just those two things. Get in that routine.
Once you have adopted this simple commitment consistently, you can start to add a few other things that will dramatically affect your skin quality. Most high quality products require regular use in order to see the amazing changes they can produce.
So, wherever you are in this journey of skincare regimen, please talk to us, we can help you get started, or help you advance to the next level!
