BESSIE MCCANN, MD
Bessie McCann, MD is a board-certified physician who has served Thurston, Grays Harbor, and Lewis Counties for over ten years as an Emergency Medicine Doctor. Dr. McCann has advanced cosmetics training and trains other providers to do cosmetic procedures. She strives to provide discrete, caring, one-on-one services for clients who value their time, privacy, and quality of results.
Lindsay burgner, arnp
Lindsay Burgner, ARNP has a robust background in Critical Care Medicine and Primary Care Medicine, and serves our country in the United States Military. She is vivacious, warm and a perfectionist. Lindsay cares for 3 horses that she works with doing Dressage which is an elegant form of rider and horse performance that represents the “highest expression of horse training” according to the International Equestrian Foundation. Lindsay takes her work in and out of the spa very seriously and also with caring and compassion. As a medical director at Derma, she and Dr. McCann work closely together to make sure our clients receive the best, safest, and most effective care.
AMANDA ESSERT, bsn, rn
"Greetings! My name is Amanda Essert and I am so excited to be a part of the Derma team! I have been a nurse for over 14 years, with 10 of them spent in the emergency department. I recently returned to school and completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at Saint Martin’s University (go Saints), and could not have accomplished this without my family’s support. My loving husband is my best friend and my rock. I am a proud mother of two amazing kids, both of whom are working on their own degrees. Growing up in Tenino, I am a small town girl and have a deep sense of commitment to our local community.
For me, nursing is more than a profession. It is my calling. My practice has afforded me endless opportunities to impact the lives of others in a time of fear and uncertainty. Words cannot express the love I hold for this field, my coworkers and my patients. There is nothing more precious than the trust between a nurse and patient. Through my role at Derma, I hope to share this passion with each and every one of you."

”Hello! I’m Sarah, a Nurse Injector and Master Esthetician here at Derma since 2016. I come from a family with a long history in medical professions so I have always known that my learned knowledge and passion would lead me to somewhere within the healing community. Skin health has always been a passion of mine, especially after dealing with acne and other skin conditions as a teenager, so it was only natural that would lead me to a career in Aesthetics. With the encouragement and support of my husband and our sweet pup Annie, I became an Esthetician in 2015 and quickly went on to master my craft in Medical esthetics. While in school, I also worked in the ER at St. Peter Hospital where I met Doctor Bessie McCann. Her calm demeanor and confidence in the midst of utter chaos immediately drew me in. I knew this was a woman I could look up to and wanted to learn from. I was overjoyed to find out that she herself was passionate about skin health and asked her right then and there to guide me through this industry and for a position at Derma to work under her. Within Derma, I have learned so much over the years about different laser modalities, cosmetic injections, collagen induction therapies, and cosmetic science. I started my journey of Nursing so I could offer a more well-rounded and scientific approach within my role here at Derma. I graduated and became licensed as a nurse in 2020 and now offer injectable services as well. I truly look forward to working with you and helping you treat this awesome and protective organ with the care it deserves.”

“Hello! My name is Emily Johnson and I have been a Master Esthetician since 2015. My husband and I got married in 2014 and quickly started our family and built our first home. We have one little boy so far but can’t wait to expand our family! If there is one thing I’ve been called to do in this world, that is to be a Momma! I have found a true passion in healthy skin care and esthetics. At Derma I do laser, chemical peels, DiamondGlow microdermabrasion, and all other aesthetics services including dermaplaning, facials and waxing. Beauty starts from within, but I love helping women enhance their outer beauty to gain confidence. If I have not had the pleasure of meeting you yet, I look forward to doing so and helping you achieve the healthiest skin you’ve ever had!”
STACEY KALKUS, MASTER ESTHETICIAN
"Hello! My name is Stacey Kalkus. I began my career in the beauty industry in 1990. I successfully owned and operated my own business from 1997 to 2015. I then decided to hang up my owner’s hat and accept the lead esthetician position at Derma, when Bessie finally expanded. Anyone that knows Bessie understands why that decision was easy for me. I am honored to call her not only my boss and mentor, but my friend.
I graduated from Lacey Beauty College in 1991 and over the years, continued to take advantage of every additional training opportunity available to expand my knowledge and enhance my skill levels. In 2009 I made the decision to focus on esthetics and skin care. That led me to taking a course with the founder of Hylunia, Dr. Link, at U.S. Advanced Medical Research, getting my certification in Ayurveda and Hylunia skincare. My passion for helping people feel beautiful and confident from the inside out didn’t stop there. In 2014 I went back to school to get my Washington State Instructors License at the Centralia Beauty College so I could share my knowledge and experience with others. It was during this time in my career when I began my professional relationship with Bessie. Derma was at its previous location when I had my laser training with her and was then able to obtain my Master Esthetics license.
My client relationships are very important to me and I pride myself on my attention to detail. I recognize I didn’t just build clientele over the years, but lasting relationships – and my goal is to continue to build and maintain those relationships with a personal level of trust and confidence.
Through all of these years building up my career I had the most amazing man in my life, encouraging me in everything I have ever set out to accomplish and without him I would not be where I am today. We have two amazing children together and I love nothing more than going home at the end of the day for family time, truly where my heart is."

“Hello! My name is Jenifer Moore. I have been with Derma since our Westside location opened. I absolutely love working with Bessie and the talented team of Estheticians, Massage Therapists and Receptionists at Derma. I have been a Licensed Esthetician for over 10 years. I went back to school to get my Master Esthetics license several years ago to broaden my scope of practice. I am still as passionate about skin care as I was day one! Esthetics is such an amazing outlet to help people, which is what I believe I was put on this earth to do. I struggled with cystic acne and had melanoma when I was in my 20’s. Having an Esthetician guide me through those times is what led me to this career path. She was so kind and knowledgeable, my experience with her made me want to learn everything I could about skin care and nutrition so I could pass it on to others. I absolutely love helping people who struggle with unwanted skin conditions such as acne or mature skin concerns. We have so many results-driven treatments at Derma to help people achieve clearer or younger looking skin.”
TIFFANY CAMACHO, MASSAGE THERAPIST
Tiffany is the Jack of all Trades in our massage therapist team.
Combining elements of Deep Tissue, Swedish massage and her own strong sense of therapeutic touch, Tiffany can zero in on what your aching muscles need and help you feel so much better. She is able to seamlessly move between different modalities of massage in a relaxed and healing way that leaves you feeling results like deep tissue massage while feeling relaxed like Swedish massage.
Tiffany is an experienced CNA, so caring for people has always been a natural part of who she is. After many years of being a CNA, she needed a different path. Family and friends have always told her she would make a great Massage Therapist, so in truth, massage chose her, and we are so grateful for her skills and expertise here at Derma!
GRETCHEN SCHUETTER, MASSAGE THERAPIST
Gretchen specializes in deep tissue and rehabilitative massage. She has extensive training in trigger-point massage and is certified in TMJ treatment.
For those who have long-standing pain, chronic pain from old injuries, excess muscle tension and headaches, teeth grinding, neck pain, and/or sports-related pain, Gretchen may be your new best friend. Problems that you have tried unsuccessfully to treat with physical therapy or chiropractic work may be the result of tender trigger points. You may be amazed with how good you can feel after skilled treatment of these sensitive, and often overlooked, areas of our bodies.
If you crave the intense effects of deep tissue or sports massage, you won't be disappointed. Gretchen has an amazing ability to tune into the particular tensions that are individual to your body, and helps soothe and ease them away.

“My name is Rachel Hudson. I’m an LMT from Rainier, WA and I’m absolutely delighted to be a part of the Derma team! My passion for injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation began when I started coaching competitive gymnastics in high school. I realized that if I wanted my students bodies to be able to function past the end of their athletic careers (not to mention my own body!) that I needed to be able to prevent injuries if possible, treat them promptly when necessary, and rehabilitate them properly afterwards.
This interest led me to a Bachelors in Kinesiology from Pacific Lutheran University in 2015 followed by my massage certification from Bodymechanics School of Massage in Tumwater in Nov. 2017. I spent 4 years as an Exercise Specialist at South Sound Physical and Hand Therapy in downtown Olympia, gaining experience in everything from strokes to minor injuries to post operative rehabilitation, followed by 2 years as an LMT working in the same office.
I feel that patient education is a crucial aspect of any therapy, and enjoy coaching clients on simple ways to reduce pain and tension in their bodies. I have further experience in Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point massage, hot stones, cupping and Gua Sha. I’m excited to learn and grow as a part of the Derma team, and I look forward to working with you all!”
